Serving police officer due in court to face attempted murder charge

A Lancashire Police Officer has been charged with attempted murder.
James Riley, aged 27, a serving Lancashire police officer, has been charged with attempted murder.
At approximately 11.30pm last Thursday (November 10), police were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a woman at a hotel on Brook Street in Manchester.
Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
Riley has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Manchester Magistrates Court today (Monday).
