Woman arrested on suspicion of drink driving after car smashes into property

A car collided with a building, following which part of the building collapsed
A woman has been arrested after the car she was driving smashed into a property in Ashton.
The force of the collision forced part of the building concerned to collapse.
A post on the Greater Manchester Police Facebook page read: "At approximately 6:45pm this evening (Thursday, January 5, 2023), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Canterbury Street in Ashton.
"A car collided with a building, following which part of the building collapsed.
"Officers and emergency services are in attendance and a scene is in place.
"One woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been taken into police custody as enquiries continue."
