Pair charged following attempted kidnap of Oldham girl

Two men have been charged in connection with the attempted kidnap of a girl in Oldham.
A 17-year-old man, who can’t be named for legal reasons, has been charged with kidnap and sexual assault.
David Stoica (aged 19) of Washwood Heath Road, Birmingham, has been charged with kidnap.
They were remanded into custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates yesterday (Tuesday).
Detective Inspector Wade of GMP Oldham division said: “I understand the concerns this incident will raise in the community, but I would like to reassure you that this is being treated as an isolated incident and there is not believed to be any wider threat to the community.
“The most important thing for all of us in Oldham is the safety of everyone in our communities, and we will continue to work closely with our partner agencies to ensure the safety of our streets.”
