A scene from the Crompton Moor rescue
The Oldham Mountain Rescue Team responded to a request from North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust yesterday (Tuesday), for assistance in locating and treating a female somewhere on Crompton Moor.
The casualty suffered a possible broken ankle.
Using Phonefind technology, the casualty was located in a wooded area opposite the quarry.
After pain relief, and splinting of the ankle, the casualty was carried on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance in the car park.
Fourteen rescue team members were involved for one hour and 45 minutes.
