Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called out to their third incident in as many days yesterday (Monday).
The team initially received a request from the North West Ambulance Service for assistance with the location, treatment and evacuation of a female who had fallen and suffered a potentially fractured ankle while out walking near Dovestones.
After establishing she was on the hillside above the reservoir, the team accessed close to the location in their off-road buggy, making it easier to get personnel and kit to the casualty site.
She was assessed and treated by a Casualty Carer before being packaged and carried on a stretcher to the waiting NWAS ambulance.
Thirteen OMRT personnel were involved for one hour and 35 minutes.
