Two men have been arrested following a police pursuit, during which a car driver 'drove directly at officers'.
Response and neighbourhood officers from the Ashton division initially pursued a vehicle (see picture above) after receiving a call from a member of the public regarding suspected drug dealing.
A post on the GMP Tameside North and East Facebook page added: "During the pursuit the offending vehicle drove directly at officers, serving and mounting the pavement, avoiding a head on collision.
"The vehicle was stopped and both the driver and passenger detained.
"Two males arrested for the following offences:
- Concerned in the supply of Drugs – class A
- Driving a motor vehicle dangerously
- Acquire/use/possess criminal property.
"We would like to thank the member of the public who came forward with the information and encourage anyone to report any suspicious activity they see."
