Recently-elected Royton North Councillor Christine Adams visited the Mahdlo Youth Zone to see first hand the work that the organisation does with young people from across Oldham.
Councillor Adams said: “I have brought my children and grandchildren up in Oldham and I have a strong interest in issues around our children and young people, so I was delighted when Mahdlo's Chief Executive Officer, Lucy Lees, gave me the opportunity to visit the project and meet some of the staff, volunteers and most importantly the young people.
“I was hugely impressed by the range of activities that are provided, from sports, art, music, drama, and life skills, to mentoring and counselling.
"What was also so impressive was the obvious commitment and dedication that the staff and volunteers have for Mahdlo."
Cllr Adams added: “I must thank Lucy for taking the time to show me around and especially for the opportunity to discuss outreach work and “pop up” projects for Royton."
