Police officers make numerous arrests during weekend of action on the transport network

Greater Manchester Police transport officers were busy supporting colleagues at Transport for Greater Manchester over the weekend, helping ensure members of the public had a safe and enjoyable experience using the various forms of transport on the network.
This weekend over two nights (Friday and Saturday) officers from the Transport Unit worked across Greater Manchester and they have:
Arrested 14 individuals for offences ranging from Possession of Class A drugs, to Possession of Bladed Articles and Robbery.
Stopped and searched 16 people.
Issued 36 Traffic Offence Reports for moving traffic violations.
Seized 8 cars for being driven without insurance or licence.
Officers also undertook a roads safety operation where over 100 pedal cyclists were stopped and given safety advice and re-educated on highway code compliance.
