A scene from Saturday evening's rescue drama
Thirteen members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team turned out on Saturday evening after a request from Greater Manchester Police asking for assistance with two lost walkers in the Dovestones area.
Their phone signal was located to a position halfway up Birchen Clough.
Team vehicles were dispatched to the end of the track at Birchen Weir, from where team members set off on foot in the snowy conditions.
The lost walkers, along with their dog, were quickly located above the waterfall by their flashing headtorches.
After assessing their condition, they were walked off the hill to the team’s warm vehicle.
The rescue team members were involved for two hours.
