Labour and Co-operative MP Jim McMahon has shared on social media his collection for Oldham Foodbank.
The Oldham West and Royton MP donates and holds a collection point at his office in Chadderton Town Hall on an annual basis to support the vital work that Oldham Foodbank does to support those struggling to put food on the table this Christmas and throughout the year.
Mr McMahon said: "I have seen first hand just how much the work the Foodbank does to support those in need and provide not just food, but baby kits, sanitary products, clothes and more - they keep people going in these difficult times.
"Every year I do a donation and collection point at my office, in lieu of Christmas cards, in support of the Oldham Foodbank to help with the vital work they do day in day out to support those people struggling to put food on the table.
"I want to say thank you to those who donated, the demand on the foodbank has skyrocketed over the past 13 years and every donation helps to support a family in need this Christmas time.
“If you are able to help you can drop off items at local drop off points across the borough."
