Police issue witness appeal after woman and teenager die in Ripponden Road crash

Greater Manchester Police received reports of a serious road traffic collision between two vehicles on Ripponden Road, Oldham, heading towards Denshaw
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after two people tragically lost their lives following a road traffic collision on Ripponden Road in Oldham.
At around 4pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday), Greater Manchester Police received reports of a serious road traffic collision between two vehicles on Ripponden Road, Oldham, heading towards Denshaw.
Emergency services attended and two people, a 42-year-old female and a 15-year-old child, sadly died at the scene.
A 13-year-old child has also suffered serious injuries and has been taken into hospital.
The 35-year-old driver, the sole occupant of the second vehicle, was arrested at the scene and remains in custody for questioning.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the car, described as a Black BMW X5, or the collision in the Ripponden Road area of Oldham, at around 4pm yesterday afternoon to get in touch to help officers their investigation.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV/doorbell footage from the area in the moments before the collision took place.
