Oldham police issue warning to residents again as 'spate of burglaries' continues
Date published: 17 June 2024

Police officers are continuing to work hard to identify the people responsible for a recent spate of burglaries
Greater Manchester Police officers have once again urged Oldham residents 'not to ignore suspicious behaviour' following a recent spate of burglaries in the town.
A post on numerous local GMP Facebook pages read: "We are currently experiencing a spate of burglaries across Oldham whereby burglars are breaking into a property to steal car keys and consequently the vehicle/s.
"Entry is mainly through patio doors so please consider additional security such as a PATLOCK and ensure any CCTV systems installed are recording and cover your vehicle/point of entry into your home.
"If you have a high value car or not, please consider using a garage if you have one or take time to think about your current vehicle security, a crook lock or tracker could give additional security.
"We are working hard to identify the people responsible for this recent spate of burglaries and would urge anyone with information to ring 101 or you can report anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"If you are up and about in the early morning please pay a bit more attention to your surroundings and watch out for your neighbourhood.
"If your CCTV /Ring doorbell captures clear images of the offenders please let us know by ringing 101.
"Don’t ignore suspicious behaviour, you know your area, if something is out of place report it by ringing 101 (only ring 999 in an emergency).
"Your knowledge and intelligence will help us to bring the offenders to justice."
