A scene from the incident in Reddish Vale
On Tuesday, late in the afternoon, Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by North West Ambulance Service to assist with an incident in Reddish Vale.
A mountain biker had fallen off their bike down a bank and 13 members were deployed to the scene.
Paramedics were at the scene when the team arrived, but they needed help moving the patient to the ambulance.
Due to the nature of the injuries the patient was placed in one of the team’s vacuum mattresses.
Once loaded onto a stretcher they were carried to the ambulance before being taken to hospital.
Team members then returned to base for their regular Tuesday night training session which was an informative talk by one of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency helicopter winch operators.
Thanks to Jamie for taking the time to travel over from Humberside, it was much appreciated.
The team were involved for two-and-a-half hours at the rescue incident.
