Tariq Mahmood has taken up the role of principal at Oasis Academy Oldham
Oasis Academy Oldham, located in the heart of Hollinwood on Hollins Road, has appointed a new principal who boasts over 20 years of leadership experience in the education sector.
Tariq Mahmood has officially taken up the role of principal at Oasis Academy Oldham, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for driving school improvement.
Throughout his career, Tariq has served in senior leadership roles at successful schools in Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield, and has been instrumental in leading positive change and supporting successful Ofsted inspections.
He is now back in Oldham where he is originally from, eager to give back to the community by ensuring that every student receives the highest quality education and opportunities to succeed.
Mr Mahmood said: “It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new Principal of Oasis Academy Oldham.
"It is a privilege to be entrusted with leading such a good school.
"I feel honoured to bring the experience I have gained over 20 years in education to this role in my hometown.
"I look forward to working with the whole academy community as we strive for even greater success for all our young people.”
He added: "I would like to thank my colleagues Gemma Blackwood and Sam Collins for their exceptional leadership last term, which culminated in the academy’s recent ‘Good’ Ofsted result.
"Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the students and staff were crucial to this achievement, and I am grateful to be building upon such a strong foundation."

"As someone who is from Oldham and deeply rooted in the local community, Tariq is committed to ensuring that every child in this area has access to the best possible education.

The academy is also welcoming prospective parents to their open evening on Wednesday, September 25 from 3pm-6pm, where they can explore the school and learn more about its vision for student success.
