Man charged after shocking attack on 87-year-old

Police are still appealing to the public for information to support their investigations into this shocking incident
A man has now been charged after an attack on an 87-year-old last Sunday week (September 15, 2024).
Shohad Miah (aged 24) from Firbank Road in Royton has been charged with kidnap, Section 18 GBH, robbery and intentional strangulation.
This charge relates to an incident which saw an 87-year-old man forced into a car, attacked, and thrown out on a dark road in West Yorkshire.
Miah has been remanded into custody ahead of a scheduled appearance at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Tuesday).
Officers are still appealing to the public for information to support their investigations into this shocking incident.
