A much-loved mountain rescue dog has gained a warm-hearted fan club after being injured in a snowy training session.
Ace, from the Oldham Mountain Rescue Team, stood on a broken glass bottle, sustaining a deep cut to his rear right pad and a sprained front right paw.
And locals kept asking for updates on his recovery on social media.
Said an OMRT spokesperson: "This incident stands as a stark reminder to look after the countryside when you use it and take your rubbish home with you especially glass bottles.
"Leave nothing but memories!”
Ace has a few more trips to the vets, but his wound is healing well, and hopefully bandages are coming off this week.
Under vets orders, Ace has had to ask Santa for some shoes, so he’s able to get back to training and doing what he loves.
But for now it’s resting, treats and shoe shopping.
The team thanks go again to Donaldsons vets for providing such good care of Ace.
