A scene from Saturday's rescue drama
Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were contacted on Saturday afternoon by North West Ambulance Service to assist with an extrication of a young male who had fallen off his mountain bike in woods near Ogden Reservoir at Milnrow and Newhey.
The team was deployed and soon arrived at the incident where NWAS paramedics were looking after the patient.
The patient was immobilised using a vacuum mattress and placed onto a stretcher before being carried up the steep slope.
At the top of the slope, they were carried a short distance to a helicopter from North-West Air Ambulance for the onward journey to hospital.
Fifteen team members were involved for two hours.
