Police in Oldham make 'significant' arrests as drugs and motoring offences are targeted

Greater Manchester Police officers have been out in force in Oldham and making numerous arrests for drug-related and motoring offences.

An earlier post on the Oldham Police - GMP Facebook page read: "Yesterday (Thursday), the Failsworth and Limeside Neighbourhood Team made significant arrests in Limeside, Oldham for the importation of Class B drugs.

"The suspects have been interviewed and released on bail as our investigation continues.

"We remain committed to ensuring the safety of our communities and will persist in our efforts to combat illegal activities.

"Thank you for your ongoing support."

Later today (Friday) a subsequent Facebook post offered more details of action taken on the roads.

The post read: "This morning, our Neighbourhood Officers teamed up with the Road Policing Unit to conduct a traffic operation on Broadway, Chadderton.

"The results:

• Male arrested for disqualified driving

• Male arrested for drug driving

• 7 vehicles seized for no insurance

• 39 traffic reports/summons issued for various offences including no insurance, no driving licences, using mobile phones, and no seatbelts

"Thank you for your cooperation and helping us keep our roads safe!"
