A heart-broken family have paid tribute to a 'much-loved father, grandfather, brother and friend'.
Mark Armstrong died after he was struck by a vehicle at around 10.05pm on October 8, 2021.
The driver, Muhammed Numan Ahmad (aged 26), of Holly Grove in Chadderton, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment after being found guilty of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving at Manchester Crown Square on June 13, 2025.
The family of Mark said: "Mark was a much-loved father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
"His life was cruelly cut short due to the actions of a young man who treated the road like a race track.
"This is a tragic reminder of how someone's decisions can destroy lives.
"We urge all drivers to think twice about their actions behind the wheel.
"We would like to thank the police and all those who worked to ensure justice was done.
"We are also incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our family and friends."
