Fatal collision on M60 - police appeal for witnesses to come forward

Greater Manchester Police investigators have appealed for information following a fatal road traffic collision near Oldham over the weekend.

At around 3:56am yesterday morning (Sunday), a vehicle driving on junction 22 of the M60 collided with a pedestrian.

The collision caused significant injuries and the pedestrian, a 57-year-old man, sadly passed away at the scene.

A large closure was put in place on both sides of the carriageway throughout the day, remaining in place for 12 hours while investigation work took place.

The motorway later re-opened at around 4.20pm.

GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
