The Women’s Health Forum, hosted in partnership with Oldham Library, proved to be a huge success with an impressive turnout of 386 attendees
Healthwatch Oldham is the independent champion for local people using health and social care services, making sure their views shape decisions and improvements.
By listening to experiences, addressing concerns, and amplifying the voices of those often unheard, it works to ensure services truly put people at the heart of care now and in the future.
The Women’s Health Forum, hosted in partnership with Oldham Library, proved to be a huge success with an impressive turnout of 386 attendees.
The event, which was tied to a current project that Healthwatch Oldham is working on regarding cervical cancer screening, brought together women from across the community to focus on their health and wellbeing.
It offered free MOT health checks alongside engaging NHS awareness talks on bowel and breast cancer screening.
From the very start, the forum created a welcoming and supportive space where women could learn, share, and take proactive steps towards managing their health.
Visitors also had the opportunity to explore a wide range of health and wellbeing stalls, providing advice, resources, and information tailored to their needs.
The strong attendance reflected just how important events like these are in empowering women to make informed choices about their care.
By combining practical checks, expert talks, and access to local services, the Women’s Health Forum highlighted the value of community-based initiatives in improving health outcomes.
