Local entertainers line-up ahead of 'Oldham's Got Talent' final showpiece

A summer-long competition to showcase the entertainment skills of people from across Oldham and beyond will come to a dramatic final this weekend (Sunday, September 21).

And now people are being asked to turn out in force and support the performers who have made it through to the last round of Oldham’s Got Talent.

Around 20 entertainers will be taking to the stage at Springfield Park, Rochdale to compete for the £300 first prize, with £100 for the runner-up and £50 for the act who takes third place.

The heats have been running through Oldham’s summer beach with the final moving to Springfield Park as part of a Bounce and Beats family fun fest.

Bounce and Beats – which will also run on Saturday, September 20 – is family friendly event with foam and colour blast parties, performances by Smilie the Clown and inflatables and children’s rides.

Top tribute acts will also be performing across the weekend, including Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter.

On Sunday there will be the added bonus of the grand final, where visitors will be able to watch a fantastic line-up of solo singers, duets, dance groups and musicians.

The local acts which have made their way through to the final are Amelia Lily Groves, Hatty Lilley, Abrish Khan, Delilah Eastham, Adrian Abraham, Poppy Perks and Abbie Carberry.

Also performing are Clementine Melling, Tammy Quinn, dance troupes Fierce and All Starz Decendants, Ella Dillon, Chelsea Steenson, Kaira Fitzpatrick, Amelia Star, Phoenix and Lincoln Prince and Gilda Melling.

Judging the final with be Kristian Longshaw, who’s company JK Events organises both Oldham Summer Beach and Bounce and Beats, Tony Nixon, CEO of Rossendale Radio and previous Oldham’s Got Talent winner, James Glitchero.

Entry to Bounce and Beats is £5 per person and gives access to all of the activities, bar the rides and inflatables which require tokens which can be bought at the site.

“We are so excited for the final as we’ve got an amazing line-up of talent,” said Kristian.

“We’ve got people of all ages who are without exception incredible performers.

"It’s going to be a really tough day for the judges and we hope as many people as possible will come and support the acts.”
