Police probe follows fatal Oldham road traffic collision

Greater Manchester Police investigators are appealing for information after a man died following a road traffic collision in Oldham.

Officers were called at 5:47am last week (Thursday, September 18) to reports a 20-year-old man had suffered serious injuries on Glodwick Road.

Sadly, he died a short time later.

The driver of the car – a man, aged 53 – stayed at the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, and has since been bailed pending further enquiries. 

The incident is being investigated by GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit and enquiries are ongoing.

The family of the deceased man are being supported by specialist officers.
