Four years behind bars for Oldham man who hid drugs stash in his bedroom

Date published: 15 October 2025

A man has been jailed for four years after various drugs were found stashed in his bedroom during a search by Greater Manchester Police Operation Vulcan officers.

Paranveer Singh (aged 24), of Yates Street in Oldham, previously plead guilty to the offences of being concerned in the supply of ketamine, cocaine, and MDMA, as well as possession with intent to supply for each of the drugs.

Singh, who received his sentence earlier this week at Minshull Street Crown Court, was investigated following the inception of Operation Vulcan in Derker and the wider area, with two warrants executed as part of that action in March.

Those morning strikes – on Yates Street and a store on London Road, Oldham – saw numerous items seized and recovered during searches of the addresses.

Within the house, around a dozens mobile phones were found, in addition to laptops, SIM cards, and notebooks.

Around 30 snap bags containing white powder were also discovered, in addition to multiple MDMA tablets, a rock of cocaine, ketamine, and other drug paraphernalia.

Following a comprehensive investigation by Vulcan’s officers, Singh was charged with the various drugs offences.

Detective Inspector Lee Newburn, from GMP’s Operation Vulcan team, said: “Singh was distributing dangerous drugs within the Oldham community – substances that can cause significant harm and damage.

“Since Operation Vulcan came to the Derker area in March, we have made more than 170 arrests resulting in charges and sentencings – with Singh being just one of them.

“We investigate all reports of criminality and we would urge anyone with intelligence to get in touch with us.”
