The countdown is on for Dr Kershaw’s’ Christmas Fayre

Date published: 19 November 2025

Get into the festive spirit with a magical afternoon of fun, food and entertainment this Sunday (November 23).

That's because Dr Kershaw’s Hospice will be transforming into a winter wonderland for its annual Christmas Fayre from 12pm-3pm.

Alongside gift stalls, there will be live music and performances from DJ Patrick Holden, the Amy Mackie School of Dance and Drama, and Oldham College.

Fun for all the family will include a giant inflatable snow globe, Santa’s Stables, Christmas carnival games, reindeer food making and a Santa’s Grotto.

Visitors can also enjoy delicious treats, including gourmet smash burgers and loaded fries from Spartan Scran.

Plus there will be mulled wine and festive cocktails from The Secret Garden Drinks pop-up bar.

The hospice’s inhouse Café K will be open for hotdogs, cakes and mince pies, while offering a warm space to take a break from the festive fun.

Alice Entwistle, Fundraising Events Lead at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, said: “It will be a magical afternoon for families to make memories while making a huge difference for our patients.

“We are so pleased to have the support of local businesses, and we appreciate everyone who has offered their services or donated prizes for our raffle.

“People of all ages are welcome, including well-behaved dogs on leads.

“Our very own lovable pooch, Hartley the hospice mascot, will be on hand to spread the Christmas cheer.”

The Christmas Fayre kicks off the hospice’s festive programme, which also includes a Christmas concert and its annual Light up a Life service in December.

Last year’s Christmas Fayre raised over £7,600 for the hospice, which receives just one-quarter of its funding from the NHS.

Entry is free, but a suggested donation of £1 will be very welcome.
