Chancery Solicitors opened its latest office at Falcon Business Centre near Chadderton Town Hall.
The opening ceremony was attended by local guests and officially marked by outgoing Oldham Mayor Eddie Moores.
Speaking at the event, Councillor Moores said, "I am tremendously proud you have come to Chadderton. I would wish you luck, but given your expertise and track record, I don’t think you will need it. Thank you for supporting the people of Oldham."
Representatives said the firm aims to work with start ups, social enterprises, small businesses and charities, alongside providing legal advice for individuals.
Areas of work highlighted by the firm include conveyancing, industrial disputes, domestic disputes and immigration matters.
Mohammed Hussain said immigration concerns are a common area where people seek legal advice.
He said, "People hear rumour, press the panic button and then google the subject."
He added, "Every case is different but people are looking for the trust and assurance that they can only get from a solicitor with up to date knowledge of the Law. I look forward to working with Chancery."
Guests at the event also heard about changes within the legal profession, including how advances in technology now allow solicitors to work more flexibly and operate outside traditional town centre offices.
Amin Babor Chowdhury said, "What really impressed me about Chancery was their recognition of what a close community Oldham is, and how what they do will differ greatly from the service they offer in the capital."
He added, "Every business and local economy that thrives has a competent legal team behind it and I think I speak for everyone in Oldham when I say how pleased we all are to have such accessible competence and expertise in our borough."
