Such was Steve's dedication to numerous local and worldwide worthy causes, the St Joseph's primary school teacher set up the Team Hill Charitable Trust in August, 2019, and the team's almost exhaustive activities throughout lockdown this year in particular, have been something the main man himself has been so very proud.
Steve told the Chronicle: "Throughout lockdown Team Hill supporters have carried out more than 1,000 shopping trips for the elderly and vulnerable who have been isolating. "We collected and delivered prescriptions too.
"As well as that we have made well over 1,500 welfare telephone calls - checking on the elderly and vulnerable.
"The team has provided well over 500 comfort packages for the Covid wards at the Royal Oldham Hospital and handed out goody bags and teddies to those on the children’s ward.
"It has been a very busy few months, and it’s been great to be able to help out both here in Oldham and in Uganda as we all try and make a small difference in the world.
"Between us we have collected and delivered a huge amount of knitted items for the Neonatal Unit at the hospital too, and continue to do so, while we also funded a roof on a new dormitory at a school in Uganda and also provided funds for food and PPE equipment over there, as well as a new oxygen concentrator at a clinic in Masaka!
"We can’t thank our wonderful supporters enough for everything they have done to support Team Hill in our mission to make a difference."
