Volunteers from Radio Cavell, Oldham's hospital broadcasting service have been presented with awards for their long service at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
A total of seven volunteers received the Hospital Broadcasting Association Long Service awards at a ceremony at Royton Cricket Club.
Steve Bolton, Record Librarian, received a 35-Year Award, along with Chairman Kent Wells. Technical Manager Phil Edmonds picked up a a 25-Year Award, and four other volunteers received 5-Year awards.
The event, organised with Action Together, was the first time the volunteers had been able to meet together since the locdown in 2019.
During the pandemic, volunteers at Radio Cavell have continued to provide a service remotely either from home or the studios of Oldham Community Radio.
Several volunteers were recognised for their efforts to maintain the service during the pandemic, including helping to raise funds, and introducing technology that allowed presenters to work remotely.
Visitors to the hospital still subject to restrictions, but friends and family can make requests and send messages to their loved one through Radio Cavell.
