On Wednesday afternoon Oldham Mountain Rescue Team received a call from North West Ambulance Service to assist with a fell runner who had slipped and injured their ankle while descending Alderman above Dovestones.
Team members were deployed to the location.
Paramedics were on scene providing medical assistance, but needed help getting the patient to the ambulance.
The runner was placed on a team stretcher and carried off the hill to the ambulance before being taken to hospital.
A total of 18 team members were involved for one hour.
