Self-employed and entrepreneurs with a disability invited to attend bespoke networking event

Date published: 01 December 2022

Locally-based self-employed people and entrepreneurs who are living and working with a disability are invited to attend a networking event, hosted by EnterprisingYou.

This is the first EnterprisingYou business networking event that is solely for self-employed and entrepreneurs in Greater Manchester who are living and working with a disability.

EnterprisingYou’s team of expert business coaches and advisors will be on hand to talk to guests about the support, workshops and other opportunities that are available on the programme.

The event will also feature an exciting line-up of guest speakers, who will be sharing their own experiences and expertise.

Among the speakers is Scott Whitney, Founder and Director of All4Inclusion, who specialise in inclusion education and support business leaders to provide a more inclusive environment.

Scott shares his own experiences as a wheelchair user to ensure that no one else faces the struggles that he has faced.

Dr Shirley Woods-Gallagher, Executive Director of the New Bridge Group, will also join the panel.

The New Bridge Multi Academy Trust has over 2,000 SEND students, aged 4-30, including many in Oldham.

Shirley received her autism diagnosis at 49 and is passionate about neurodiversity representation.

Also joining the line-up is Kelly Gray, Account Manager, who will be speaking about becoming self-employed aided her recovery from a serious injury and led her back into full time work.

Guests will also have the opportunity to attend taster workshops throughout the event, covering SEO, Self-Awareness, Sales, Marketing and Financial Planning, giving guests the chance to learn everything from what makes a person a successful business owner to identifying financial targets and learning how to sell more.

Yvonne Sampson, Head of Enterprise at Business Growth Hub, said: “We are excited to host our first-ever bespoke networking event for entrepreneurs and self-employed people who are living and working with a disability.

“We are passionate about supporting the self-employed and we understand it can be a lonely space when you’re working for yourself, and this event will allow us to reach out to some of the more isolated communities across Greater Manchester.

“As well as giving guests the opportunities to meet new, present and past EnterprisingYou clients to expand their networks and find new potential collaborations, we are proud that our networking events offer a sense of community and a safe space for all self-employed and entrepreneurs across the region.”

The event is free to attend and takes place from 9.30am to 2.00pm on Wednesday, December 7, at University Academy 92 (UA92), Brian Statham Way, Stretford, M16 0PU.
