Founded 40 years ago and now operating from 18 depots across the UK, LWC was praised by judges as a “stand-out operator”
LWC, the UK’s largest independent drinks wholesaler which is headquartered in Chadderton, has been named ‘Best Distribution Company’ at this year’s prestigious Drinks Business Awards – a major national recognition for one of the region’s most quietly influential businesses.
Founded 40 years ago and now operating from 18 depots across the UK, LWC was praised by judges as a “stand-out operator” with “valuable investment in the business as well as proof that it has a sustainable business plan.”
The award recognises LWC’s long-standing commitment to customer service, operational excellence, and continued investment in both people and infrastructure.
From digital systems and account management support to sustainable logistics, LWC continues to combine national reach with a local service mindset.
Ebrahim Mukadam, managing director for LWC, said: “This is a celebration of the teams at the heart of our business – those who move mountains every day to keep the drinks flowing across the country.
“From early starts in the warehouse to those last-mile drops, our distribution teams are the engine that powers our service.
"This award is theirs – and we’re incredibly proud to see that hard work recognised on a national stage.”
To mark the achievement, the physical trophy is currently touring LWC’s national depot network, giving every team a moment to share in the recognition before it returns to LWC’s head office in Chadderton, where it will be permanently displayed.
With 18 depots, a 40+ pub estate, its own award-winning wine and brands portfolio, and a fast-growing sustainability strategy, LWC continues to evolve its business model around customer-first service, local support, and operational excellence.
