Just some of the successful Isaan youngsters who have made Head Coach Ste Donnelly so proud
As Oldham's Isaan Muay Thai Training Centre approaches the sixth anniversary since it opened, Head Coach Ste Donnelly has spoken with pride about the gym's achievements over that period.
Donnelly said: "I’m extremely proud of the success Isaan has enjoyed, and we have done it the hard way.
"When I first opened I always wanted to produce good boxers, and I said to myself that I'll give myself three years.
"If I couldn’t do it by that time, I would knock it on the head.
"I had my first two champions in the first 18 months, and as they say, the rest is history.
"Success continues to breed success here."
Isaan's list of success stories:
5 x World unified champions Muay Thai/K1
1 x WBC youth games gold medallist
1 x WBC European champion
1 x WBC British champion
1 x European champion
1 x EMF European champion
6 x British champions
6 x Sandee open champions
2 x English champions
1 x WTKA area champion
1 x Anglo Scottish champion
1 x Anglo Irish champion
6 x Sandee novice champions
Donnelly added: "Apart from Tommy Lowe, Anthony Hamer and Brayden Watson, all the rest of these kids have been brought all the way through from scratch.
"I'd like to say a big thanks to everybody - both students and parents at Isaan - for their support.
"We have a huge year ahead in 2023."
