Asmir Begovic goalkeeping academy set to open Oldham branch

Date published: 16 January 2023

A goalkeeping academy set up by former Bosnia international and Chelsea stopper Asmir Begović is coming to Oldham.

The Asmir Begović GK Academy specialises in coaching and the education of young goalkeepers.

The Academy - set up by the now 35-year-old Everton back-up 'keeper - focuses on providing young, ambitious and committed goalkeepers an environment where they can maximize their individual development.

With the vast experience of the coaching network and the founder, ABGK want to help build the next generation of goalkeepers in our local community.

Sessions are open to boys and girls of all abilities from the age of 10 to 16.

The focus is on individual work and developing and strengthening fundamental goalkeeping techniques, as well as all the demands of the goalkeeper position.

The new season of sessions start on February 24, and will take place at the VestaCare Stadium, home of Avro FC, on Whitebank Road in Oldham (OL8 3JH).

They will be staged on Fridays between 5-7pm, and the cost is £15 per session.

ABGK will provide new goalkeepers with some @ab1gk gloves as a welcome gift.
