A Stableford for C and R’s men had the three divisions topped by Alistair Cameron (37), Aaron Bishop after a

cpo on 36, with Michael Tomkinson and Liam Lovell and Daniel Dale on 38.

Meanwhile, there were Incredible scenes in the ninth year of Winter League at Stamford Golf Club.

Stamford pro Mark Smith said: “After 14 weeks of brutal conditions in a field size of 47 competitors, we have finally found our 2023 Winter League champion in Thomas Crowdy."

“I focused on this event for some weeks," said Crowdy.

"It’s exciting, extremely competitive and kind of putting course conditions aside, the focus becomes the competition in itself.

"I've really enjoyed the series."

Crowdy made a three for three points on the last hole to win by a single point from Duncan Hough, followed by Matt Merson just one point further back in third place.

Pro Smith added: “From the Pro Shop, I thank all the Winter League competitors for their contribution to continue this exciting event when conditions are against us.

"It never fails to produce exciting results and the bonus is once it’s all over, it’s finally spring!”
