Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care on Market Street in Shaw
A Shaw opticians has set its sights on raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society with a charity bake and book sale.
Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care on Market Street will hold the event on Friday (25th) to mark Dementia Action Week (May 21-27).
Branch manager Elaine Speight said: “It’s a cause we care about because dementia affects the lives of so many people in our community.
"There is a real need for continued research and support, so any donations will be gratefully received.”
Scrivens is supporting Alzheimer’s Society for a fourth successive year.
It was chosen because of the growing evidence of a link between uncorrected hearing loss and dementia, including Alzheimer’s.
Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care is a family run business which was established in 1938.
It has 182 stores in England and Wales, with 1,000 employees.
