Cheese-tasting proved popular at the Royton Townswomen’s Guild's latest event
The Royton Townswomen’s Guild enjoyed an evening of cheese tasting courtesy of Cheeseplus, a cheese company based at Bury Market.
The Townswomen were wowed with cheeses from across the UK, while they also enjoyed each other’s company at the event, which was just one of many on the Guild’s calendar for this year.
Barbara Micklethwaite, Chairman of Royton Townswomen’s Guild, said: “For our members, the Townswomen’s Guild as an organisation provides a welcome respite from some of the difficult and challenging circumstances they often face at home.
“That’s why it is important that we organise events that are as fun and enjoyable as possible.
“We thoroughly enjoyed our cheese tasting evening and I am very much looking forward to our next big event.”
As well as evenings such as this one, the Guild offers a variety of activities that its 60-plus members can take part in such as bowling, knit and knitter, walking and more recently a book club, and there’s always room for new members.
