Is this really the ultimate 21st Century date? Anatomy Lab Live is back!

Anatomy Lab Live is back, and inviting you to a Valentines meal sure to tug at the heartstrings - this is definitely your chance to bring dissection to date night!

At first, the evening might seem like a romantic Valentines day plan; two course meal, a performance from Manchester-born Alexander Stewart, and your valentine sat opposite.

But Dinner ‘Dance’ and Dissection is a romantic treat heart-felt in more ways than one.

In fact, the similarities end right after the meal.

Instead of formal outfits, guests will be dressed in surgical drapes.

They will sit not at a table set with fine cutlery, but at a surgical trolley covered in scalpels and surgeon’s tools.

The room will then be plunged into darkness before the centre stage operating theatre springs into action.

A live patient will be rushed through the crowd into the pod before being anaesthetised in a state of panic.

Broadcast to the live screens you’ll see nationally acclaimed human anatomist Samuel Piri and his clinical team take the scalpel to the patient’s chest to reveal the internal organs and start surgery.

This extended special feature on the heart is sure to get the blood pumping as guests work their way through a complete dissection of the human body, attempting a variety of surgical techniques and corrective procedures using real kit on the specimens.

The event delivers in-depth content aimed at those studying anatomy, physiology or pathology at undergraduate level and for those who are already practicing healthcare professionals.

However, the team also welcome those interested in anatomy, disease or medicine in general.

The 2019 tour follows Anatomy Lab Live's two previous sell-out tours and hits The Village Hotel in Ashton on February 14.

Standard tickets are £89, but fall to £80 for NHS/NUS members.

Group tickets for ten people, including prosecco reception and merchandise, are £1000, or £950 with discount.

Mr Piri said: “We are really excited to be back and bring this valentine special to our Surgery 2019 tour and featuring Alexander Stewart is going to bring a very special and unique feel to the evening.

"We haven’t done anything like this before.

"This is definitely going to be unique and exciting; a perfect blend of music and infotainment that will promise an unforgettable night like never before.

"This is the ultimate 21st Century date."
