Sohaib and Feedmanchester provide hope for the city's rough sleepers

Date published: 04 October 2018

Along with close friends Michelle Dunleavy, from Stretford, and Josie Heavey, from Salford, Oldham's Sohaib Bhatti has shown he's got a heart of gold after starting up Feedmanchester - a group who aim to feed and clothe the city's homeless every weekend.

Feedmanchester are a dedicated bunch of volunteers who go out each and every Friday onto the streets of Manchester distributing hot food, drinks, sandwiches, snacks and cold drinks.

All supplies are purchased and prepared by the people involved.

The group is shortly going to be celebrating its three-year anniversary and rather than going for a meal or an event for themselves, the team have decided to celebrate by giving even more!

Feedmanchester are hoping to be able to host an event in one of the squares in Manchester city centre and give out the hot food etc, along with 50 packs of essential supplies (such as a sleeping bag, foil blanket and a poncho),

That may sound extreme, but these packs can potentially save a person's life over winter.

The team is driven forward by Sohaib, Josie and Michelle.

Sohaib has been a member of the group almost from day one and is still as passionate now as he was at the beginning.
