The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group has been ranked number 25 in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List in recognition of its continued dedication to workplace diversity.

The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List ranks UK based organisations that promote inclusion at every level of employment within an organisation.

The Northern Care Alliance brings together the Salford Royal and Pennine Acute Trusts, and manages Salford Royal Hospital, the Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Rochdale Infirmary and North Manchester General Hospital and community services.

Sir David Dalton, Chief Executive at The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and I am incredibly proud of the organisation and our staff for making the Northern Care Alliance, our hospitals and community services in Salford, Oldham, Bury, Rochdale and North Manchester, truly equal, diverse and inclusive places to work.”

The Northern Care Alliance actively promotes all strands of diversity, including age, disability, gender, LGBT, race, faith and religion, at all levels including management, senior, executive and board level.

The NHS group, one of the biggest in the country, has an inclusion and engagement roadmap that is the blueprint for the Alliance’s Inclusion and Engagement strategy, illustrating our vision and setting out our five year plan, which will see the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group moving towards becoming a centre of excellence for inclusion and engagement.

In June this year The Northern Care Alliance joined with Greater Manchester’s other public sector employers and signed up to a historic commitment to address race inequality at work.

The Alliance and its partners became the first in the country to work together to tackle race inequality in the workplace, and leaders including NCA Group Chief Executive Sir David Dalton, signed a collective commitment.

Other signatories included other NHS organisations, local authorities, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Police.

The Northern Care Alliance’s position in the top 50 list reflects the high standard to which it operates.

As well as addressing areas of improvement, The Northern Care Alliance has developed and delivered high impact initiatives to actively implement solutions.

The NHS group has been recognised for its continuous dedication to diversity, equality and inclusion.

The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List is compiled by a dedicated panel of judges and the organisations featured have provided sufficient evidence on an amalgamation of topics including recruitment procedures, training and a host of diversity related initiatives.

The Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List recognises the outstanding efforts of organisations that have begun their journey to attracting and retaining a truly diverse workforce, achieving equality, diversity and inclusion at its purest form.
