Saddleworth School students deliver Christmas treats

The Christmas treats were delivered to Riverside House
Students and staff from Saddleworth School gave a little treat for residents of Riverside House by making and delivering Christmas party boxes, filled with turkey sandwiches, crisps, chocolates, home-made trifle complete with a Christmas cracker and Christmas card.
Mrs Reece, Mrs Butler and Mrs Brooks helped to organise the event and Year 11 pupils Harry Rushworth, Demi Cumming and Lily Wyatt delivered the gifts.
Riverside House is just 5 minutes from the school on the High Street with 42 elderly residents who live independently.
Mr John Broadbent lives there who was the school caretaker and then a School Governor. John is now the patron of the school. We normally invite elderly relatives and friends to a Senior Citizen’s party into school but as we were unable this year decided to make Christmas Tea Boxes.
