The Disability Confident scheme aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people
Ascroft Medical, which is based in the centre of Oldham, have become a Disability Confident employer.
The oral hygiene specialists, who were recently recognised and Highly Commended in the National Dental Awards, have taken the first step to become a ‘Disability Confident Level One’ employer.
The Disability Confident scheme aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people.
It is voluntary and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives.
The Disability Confident scheme has three levels that have been designed to support an employer on their Disability Confident journey.
Employers must complete each level before moving on to the next.
Co-director of Ascroft Medical, Krzysztof Zemlik, said: “We were delighted to have joined the scheme, our clinicians and staff alike work so hard to provide the best possible patient care and patient experience for all our patients, especially during these challenging times and as a business, we feel it is our duty to reach out to all members of our community when recruiting."
