Organised by the Friends of Gallery Oldham, the fair will run from 10am to 4pm in The Creator Space. Visitors can meet the people behind the work and buy original art and handmade pieces directly from them.
The fair will include painting, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, sculpture and illustration. Entry is £1, while children and students can enter free.
The Friends of Gallery Oldham is a volunteer group that raises funds and supports the gallery’s collection. Its first GO! Artists fair took place last year. Money raised helped towards the acquisition of a sundial that has recently been installed at the gallery.
Anne Bardsley, vice chair of the Friends, said: “There is so much creative talent on our doorstep, and the fair gives artists an opportunity to showcase their work, meet new audiences and connect directly with the local community.
“It’s also wonderful to see the difference the event can make to Gallery Oldham. The sundial, which was recently installed, is a fantastic example of how supporting the Friends can help bring new pieces into the gallery’s collection.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors back this year and celebrating the incredible creativity we have here in Oldham.”
Visitors can also take part in an art tombola. Participating artists and makers have donated original artwork and handmade prizes, with proceeds going to the Friends’ work supporting Gallery Oldham.
The fair takes place during Oldham’s Town of Culture year. The Friends say the event aims both to give local artists a place to show and sell their work and to raise funds for the gallery.
GO! Artists is at The Creator Space, Gallery Oldham, on Saturday 17 October 2026, from 10am to 4pm. Entry is £1, or free for children and students.
