Roland Frank Marsden
Aged 85.
Loving Husband of our departed Mum Joan, father to Peter and Duncan, loving grandad to Hannah, Joshua and Jessica and great-grandad to William and Isaac. Dearly loved and cherished brother-in-law of Jean, Carol and the late Barbara, Jack, Charlie and the late Brian and Trevor. Loving God father to Malcolm.
Died peacefully on 28th December, 2019 and departed to be re-joined with our mum and the angels following loving support from his Family, the Care Teams from Home Instead and his brief stay in Woodlea Care Home, Doncaster.
Roland’s work life was dedicated to the newsprint industry where he was a lifelong Compositor for the Manchester Evening News. His other dedication in life was lost in March 2015 when he lost his wife Joan who he had been with since the age of 14 and since then battled with this and we are proud of how he coped.
Roland will be sadly missed by all the Family and many dear Friends who had their lives touched by his special being and loving nature for all who he met.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, 9th January at Oldham Crematorium at Hollinwood Cemetery, Roman Road, Hollinwood, Oldham, OL8 3LU with the service starting at 11.30am.
Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Dementia UK in Memory of Roland Marsden or cheques should be made payable to Dementia UK and sent c/o Hedley Jackson Dip FD. Tel. 01706 847422.
