Hopwood Hall launches free courses for local adults

Date published: 03 December 2018

Hopwood Hall College has launched a new range of free adult courses to provide new opportunities for local residents.

The courses include training in a range of subjects including Bookkeeping, IT, Cookery, Welding and Computer Aided Design.

All have been created to give adults looking to retrain in a new field an ideal opportunity to do so.

The courses will be run on a part time basis and almost all of them will be free to enrol on.

Starting in January, the College will also be running a number of short online qualifications alongside the part-time courses to broaden an individual’s skillset without the need to fully retrain.

Students will be able to gain qualifications in subjects such as Social Media and Online Safety, Environmental Sustainability, Managing Personal Finance and understanding Employment, Business and Enterprise.

Speaking at the launch of the College’s adult courses, Hopwood Hall College Principal, Derek O’Toole, said: “Hopwood Hall College is excited to launch a range of adult courses for the benefit of our surrounding communities.

"The free courses present a great opportunity for adults to apply now, retrain and find new direction in their life or upskill their current talents to keep them fresh and up to date with the current employment landscape.

“With nearly 5000 students currently studying with us already and the second highest Ofsted rating available, we feel confident we can offer a whole new part of the community the opportunities to further themselves and their education.”

Applications can be made on Hopwood Hall College’s website along with a free downloadable copy of the Adult Guide.
