The step from primary to secondary school can feel daunting, but feeling secure in your decision of where your child will be moving on to next can make the process a lot easier for both you and your child.

E-ACT The Oldham Academy North is supporting prospective students and their families with their decision.

By offering the chance to see the academy in person, they can see how it could be the perfect choice for that next big step.

On Tuesday, September 26, families are invited to the academy's open evening to experience the academy environment and the excellent facilities which students will access during their time at the academy.

Throughout the course of the evening, which will run from 4pm until 7pm, there will be opportunities for both parents and children to meet the academy's devoted staff and ask any questions they have, as well as listen to a talk from headteacher Jessica Giraud.

There will also be extra entertainment throughout the event, including a drama performance and the chance to look around the academy’s intriguing art gallery and see some of the exciting extra-curricular opportunities available, including the Big Bang Club.

The high levels of support which students receive from the academy's dedicated staff means that they feel comfortable enough to truly embrace learning and their potential, making their path to success even easier.

It's evident that E-ACT The Oldham Academy North prides itself on the excellent pastoral care it provides, ensuring each student is happy and settled in their environment, and that all students develop into confident, hard-working and ambitious young people.

These life-long traits and skills are developed at E-ACT The Oldham Academy North not only through the curriculum and school environment, but through the wide range of co-curricular and sports clubs on offer to enhance students' experience.

The activities are an important and exciting feature of academy life and contribute enormously to students’ social and academic development, presenting another avenue to success.

Each activity allows students to make full use of the academy's excellent facilities, including the sports hall, 3G sports pitch and computer provision.

An academy with high ambition and high aspirations for its students, the highly-rated E-ACT The Oldham Academy North believes that to allow its students to be successful in the challenging and competitive world around us, they must achieve the best academic results possible.

Through its ambitious and challenging curriculum, students study a broad and balanced range of subjects where they can develop the skills they need for the future as well as develop passions where they can thrive.

This means that every child receives the opportunities they need to not only learn but to progress - something that is evident through the academy's impressive track record of improving outcomes for students.

Having built impressive academic skills and strength throughout their educational journey, the majority of students study English Baccalaureate at GCSE to truly evidence their educational success and open up many opportunities after school.

Headteacher Jessica Giraud said: "The Oldham Academy North is an ambitious academy with the drive and motivation to ensure all our students are successful.

"We are immensely proud of our students and our academy, and have high expectations of all members of our team, no exceptions.

"We believe that endurance is one of the keys to being successful: which is why it is one of our core values that we instill and promote in our students daily.

"As the headteacher, I firmly believe that education is the greatest lever in ensuring we are giving young people choices and the opportunity to carve their own future, regardless of background, race or gender.

"Every student deserves the best and I will strive to ensure that, at TOAN, every student has the support, guidance and challenge they need to flourish."
