THE Failsworth and Werneth district nursing team has been given a big thank you by one of its patients who was overwhelmed by the treatment he received.
Gordon Ryder suffered a broken leg and ankle in December 2014, and had to visit the Failsworth and Werneth district nurses every week for almost six months.
Gordon nominated the team for a Pride in Oldham Award for the way they cared for him: “I really can’t speak highly enough of the team. The level of care was outstanding. I always got the feeling they were happy to see me and I always felt welcome. I was genuinely treated with respect.
“Instead of dreading treatment, I actually wanted to go.”
Team leader Cathy Allen said: “Our patients are always our priority, so to receive a Pride of Oldham nomination from a patient is very encouraging and rewarding. It’s a great boost to hear people are happy with the care they receive.”
