Marjorie Gratton
Marjorie Gratton has spent 16 years championing help for grieving adults and children at Oldham Bereavement Support Service, based at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Born and raised in Chadderton, it was the death of her own husband Donald that saw her want to help other people in similar situations.
As vice chairman of the organisation, the keen volunteer has launched a tailored service for children who have lost loved ones and also established a child grief team in 2005.
Carol Royle
Dedicated volunteer Carol Royle has been a familiar voice for thousands of patients and staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital for over three decades.
Not only has she presented programmes on Radio Cavell and kept listeners entertained for 32 years, but she also takes it upon her herself to help hardworking staff to distribute meals and to chat to patients, and welcomes other radio team members with open arms.
Fellow volunteer Nicholas Roddy nominated her for her warm, unassuming nature, as well as her committed support to both staff and patients.
Tim Royales
Committed to making a difference to young people’s lives, Tim Royales has been praised for his community work at the Eden Project, in Fitton Hill.
It was there that he established a series of services for children and families, including a health centre for young people, baking club, football team and youth club.
Thrilled to be nominated, Tim said it was the great team of volunteers at the project who should share the credit.
