Roughyeds support Club Grading

There will be no change to existing arrangements for promotion and relegation this season
Oldham RLFC has confirmed that it was among a large majority of clubs that voted in favour of Club Grading at a special meeting of the RL Council in Huddersfield.
The Grading system, which ranks clubs as A, B or C, allows club to earn points for such things as size of catchment area, size of crowds, amount of social media usage, facilities, community involvement etc – and not merely results on the field.
Roughyeds director Haydn Walker said: “Although, at the moment, we would certainly be a Grade C club we feel the criteria will match our strategic, long-term plans and ambitions.
"I expected a close vote, but more than 80 per cent of clubs voted in favour.
"For all clubs, including Oldham, the hard work starts here.”
There will be no change to existing arrangements for promotion and relegation this season, but club gradings will be issued this autumn, giving clubs a year to improve before updated gradings will determine divisional placings in 2025.
