Opticians focus on takeover
Date published: 25 April 2014
WORKERS at Rayner Opticians in Royton and Shaw are celebrating becoming part of the Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care business.
This follows the acquisition of 19 Rayner branches by Birmingham-founded Scrivens.
The move safeguards 75 jobs, including five positions at the Rayner branch in Market Square, Royton, and three at the branch in Market Street, Shaw.
Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care was founded 75 years ago and now has 171 stores.
All 19 Rayner branches will remain open and will be fully rebranded to Scrivens in June.
