FORMER Oldham Athletic head of partnerships David Broadbent has set up a new business.
“Broady” (32) who now works for League Two club Tranmere Rovers, has established 1966 Media with Ric Dennis of Eden Creative, based at Athletic’s SportsDirect.com Park stadium. The company does all Latics’ design work.
The pair have set up the new Latics’ academy site and another for Saddleworth junior club 3D Dynamos.
“The sites are completely free to the clubs, we’ll never ask them for a penny,” explained Dave, adding: “1966 Media sells advertising on websites and pays the participating clubs a percentage of the revenue.
“This is where we differ from other providers who may offer free sites but keep the money. We saw a gap and hope to have 20 clubs and be earning them money to pay for things like kits, pitch fees, coaching courses and so on.”
